Sexy Spaniard drops a beat on Chicago

A Spaniard bomb is coming to Chicago, with the best beats for making everybody dance.
International DJ and remixer makes Chicago debut at IML
International DJ and remixer Dani Toro of Barcelona doesn't fall under any labels, his music style is unique. His sets, which he describes as a mix between Tribal House and Progressive, are always strong and very energetic. Ultimately he blends it all together, delighting the most demanding crowd.
The 30-year-old artist has worked at some of the best LGBT clubs throughout Europe. In 2008, he made his big break into the LGBT scene as one of the guest headliners for MADRID Pride where he played for a crowd of over 6,000 people.
DJ Dani Toro make his Chicago debut Memorial Day Weekend as part of the IML Victory Party at the House of Blues Chicago.
CP: (ChicagoPride.com) Matthew Harvat knows how to throw a party, are you glad that your Chicago debut is part of and event produced by CircuitMOM Productions?
DT: (Dani Toro) I can think of no other organization better for my debut in Chicago. CircuitMOM Productions is well-known worldwide for making the best parties.
CP: What can we expect from you this weekend?
DT: I am very excited to be part of this project. A Spaniard bomb is coming to Chicago, with the best beats for making everybody dance. [laughs] I think it's going to be a night with different sounds.
CP: Can you give us a hint of any of the tracks we might hear?
DT: Shhhhhhh [laughs]
CP: How would you describe your style?
DT: My style is a combination of continents. I would say Tribal House, Progressive and Tech House. In two words, energy and happiness together.
CP: Tell us briefly about yourself. Where are you from?
DT: As I mentioned before, I am from Barcelona - living between Barcelona and Milan where I have a residency at The Farm. I am a simple guy - I like sports, traveling and meeting new friends. I don't like drama, so I try to find solutions to everything.
CP: What inspired you to become a DJ?
DT: This story began in 1999. I admired some DJs of the scene and I wanted to listen to the mixes at home, so I asked a friend to let me have some days on the turntables at his place. Some days became some years. I always dreamed of having my chance to perform and do what I love most - make people dance!
CP: What would you consider your break-out moment as a DJ?
DT: Pride of Madrid 2008. I was coming from a different scene and since that moment I started being known and getting offers to play at many parties.
CP: What is one of the major highlights of your career?
DT: Well, I would say the gigs I'm having these days are very important. I had an amazing party in New York City, I'll be headlining IML this weekend and I'll be at the One Might Weekend in Orlando the following weekend. I'm very happy and proud of the new breaks in my career.
CP: Do you currently have any club residencies or other regular gigs?
DT: My residency is in one of the best festivals in Europe, XLSIOR MYKONOS (www.xlsiorfestival.com). I really recommend that everybody go there this summer. Then also my residency at The Farm in Milan (www.thefarmmilano.com). It's one of the best parties in the fashion capital.
CP: What is your theme (or favorite) song?
DT: Well I have many, but right now I am in love with the " I Could be the One" bent collective remix or the music of Edson Pride, one of my favorite producers.
CP: Single or taken?
DT: I am single! Grrrr. [laughs]
CP: What would you say is the sexiest part of your body?
DT: I like my shoulders and my arms, some people say my eyes are sexy. I am happy with myself, I think that's most important.
