Wynter Gordon

Dance music singer Wynter Gordon is bringing her warm voice to Roscoe's as part of the Fusion Radio Chicago 7-year anniversary party and celebration. It will be Wynter time before you know it in Chicago!

JN: (Jerry Nunn) Hi, Wynter. Where you calling from today?

WG: (Wynter Gordon) Hi, Jerrrrry! I am in California at the Enterprise parking lot, getting a rental car.

JN: What are you doing out there?

WG: I am writing new material.

JN: So a full album as opposed to the EP, The First Dance, that just dropped November 9th?

WG: The EP was sort of like my greatest hits album. Those were collaborations with other people plus one new song. I just like to get new material in every time that I have an idea.

JN: Are you working with the producers you have worked with before?

WG: A bunch of people have sent me music, but this time I am going in by myself. It is just me and an engineer, a very intimate setting. Sometimes that is when I work my best.

JN: Where are you originally from?

WG: Jamaica Queens, New York.

JN: Oh, a New York girl. Is the track "I Feel Love" on the EP a Donna Summer cover?

WG: Yes, it is with the Rhythm Masters and MYNC. They approached me and wanted to remix it. They asked me to the do the vocals.

JN: Your song with David Guetta "Toyfriend" I listen to all the time.

WG: Great, I hope you shake your butt to it.

JN: I will at Roscoe's when you play there. Are you excited about coming to Chicago?

WG: I love Chicago. I was just there. Chicago is a fun place. I hung out with a bunch of Bulgarians last time. I went to a Bulgarian dance party underground. It was pretty weird.

JN: This will be a different trip at a gay bar. There are many good people performing with you also.

WG: Oh yeah, who?

JN: Erykah Jayne and Kaci Battaglia, who I just spoke to the other day.

WG: Sounds awesome.

JN: Are you bringing your wind machine and sparkles with you?

WG: Of course. Well, actually. The time you are speaking of I was at a club and they put it on youtube.com. That was the first time that I used it. It was pretty awesome. I would like to do that again.

JN: Any special messages you want to say to your gay fans?

WG: I just want to say thank you for supporting me and getting behind me. I really appreciate it.

JN: I will meet you before the show.

WG: Good, I will be a bit more awake. I had a root canal right before my flight here to California and I am on all types of codeine.

JN: Oh no! Well, you will be recovered by the time you get to town.

WG: Yes, and then I will be crazy! I will see you there!!!
