The weather may have been crap during the week, but what do we care what happens while we're at work - all we care about is the weekend. The weekend is filled with street festivals, a great bike ride and plays to help kick of Pride Month! Get out there and have some fun.
THURSDAY, JUNE 4
Howard Brown Health Center continues their 'Aging As We Are: It's Out Time' program with a presentation of 'Erotic & Gender Identities and LGBT Aging' from 7-11PM. A town-hall style meeting lets the community and LGBT aging professionals discuss the impact of aging and the effects on erotic and gender identities.
This is your last chance to catch Melissa Young's "Lucky Star: Madonna at 50 the first time around?" before it heads to New York for it's off-Broadway debut. Young will take the stage at the Hoover-Leppen Theater at the Center on Halsted at 7:30. Tickets start at $20 and can be purchased online.
James Van Praagh will sign his latest book Unfinished Business at Borders - 830 N Michigan at 7PM.

It's the first Friday of the month - you know what that means! First Fridays at the Museum of Contemporary Art. This month the museum takes on a queer flair for Pride Month that includes a Digital Dating Bar and the music of DJ A-Cup and the Revelettes, delicious go-go dancers. Tickets are $16, hors d'oeuvres included and a cash bar is available. Get your ticket online before they sell out!
Since 1904 Ravinia has been luring guests to the northside with sounds of music, this year is no different as they kick off another year! Tonight is a performance of the classic Lerner & Loewe musical Camelot. Lawn tickets are $25 each and they now offer free Wi-Fi, so you can take your laptop with you and still be connected. Lesbian feminist performance artist Holly Hughes will present Sapphic Sampler at Northwestern University at 6PM. Hughes along with Karen Finley, Tim Miller and John Fleck are the NEA Four whose grants from the NEA were canceled in 1990 based on the content of their work. Don't miss this chance to see a truly gifted performance artist. Tickets are $10 and they benefit About Face Theater.
Flesh Hungry Dog Show takes over the stage at Jackhammer -6406 N Clark St - at 9PM featuring: The Beazley Phillips Band, On We, A.J. Shanti and Girlie-Q Burlesque. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased online to beat the line.
30 Queer Plays in 60 Straight Minutes will take the stage at the New-Futurarium tonight and tomorrow at 8PM. If you haven't been to TMLMTBGB then now is your chance. The show will benefit About Face Theater who is struggling in this difficult economy.
SATURDAY, JUNE 6
Looking for a new best friend? Head on over to Pets @ Paulina (just off the Paulina Brown Line stop) where several Chicago animal resuce groups will have adoptable pets availble for petting, playing and adopting. Come on, share your love.
The 180 mile, two-day Ride for AIDS steps off today in Evanston on it's journey to Elkhorn, Wisconsin where they will spend the night and make the return journey the following morning. Riders have been training and fundraising for months, and if you haven't sponosored someone you can still head on over to the site and make a pledge.
RECESSION BUSTER Dykes Pedaling Bikes will take to the lakeshore bike path this morning at 9AM. Meet at the Totem Pole near Irving, head south to Buckingham Fountain and then back north where you can join the ladies for brunch at Tweet. Open to everyone, helmets are required.
Eva Wong will be leading a program on quigong 'a spiritual-discipline that cultivates body and mind simultaneously' at the Center on Halsted. Registration is required, entry is $200 for the weekend.

Head on over to The Raven street festival and participate in the 2nd Annual Ravenswood Cornhole Tournament at 3PM, The Raven is one of Chicago's newest festivals and will surely be a hit.
SUNDAY, JUNE 7
The Anaphora Ensemble, a musical performance group dedicated to 'performing, developing and enhancing classical and contemporary music' will present their Contemporary Series Finale at The Green Mill Lounge - 4802 N Broadway - at 2PM, tickets are only $5 and you can head over to Crew after the concert.
FREE If you didn't head downtown yesterday, get down there today and make sure you don't miss the Chicago Tribunes Printer's Row Bookfair. Stock up on books, listen to poetry readings, take in some cooking demos and perhaps sample some wine.
Stop by the Chicago History Museum - North Ave & Clark St - at 1:30PM for a screening of a documentary film that follows Marc Jacobs and his team at the House of Louis Vuitton. Free with paid admission to museum.
