AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 Adds Foxx, DeHaan to Cast

Amazing Spider-Man 2 just got some amazing new co-stars! Director Marc Webb introduced Dane DeHaan (of the sleeper hit Chronicle ) to fans as "Harry Osborn" via Twitter. With a flurry of congratulatory tweets, the fanboy reception was very warm for DeHaan. "All this love is makin' me feel all tingly inside. Thanks ya'll," he tweeted.

Actor Jamie Foxx was rumored to play the super-villain "Electro" after appearing in the Electro costume for a Halloween party. Columbia Pictures confirmed the casting in an official statement released yesterday. "I think Electro will be an exciting character to play because he's a ... genius electrician-type person, and he gets the short end of the stick from the whole world, and the next thing you know he turns it on," Foxx told Entertainment Tonight . Also added to the cast is Shailene Woodley in an unnamed role, though it is widely speculated that she will be playing iconic Spider-Man love interest "Mary Jane Watson."

Amazing Spider-Man 2 is scheduled for release May 2, 2014. Stars Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone are set to return.
