The Midwest's largest street festival is back as Northalsted Market Days 2021 takes over Lakeview with some of the biggest parties and performances in Chicago this weekend.
Opening at 5 p.m. on Friday, August 6, the three-day street festival turns North Halsted St. into one enormous party complete with six entertainment stages featuring local and national headliners.
Here is some need to know information about the festival. Where's the party?
The event stretches the length of what is popularly called "Boystown" in Chicago's Northalsted neighborhood. Once there, follow the herd of excited revelers, or the gaggle of drag queens, or just follow the music. But seriously, Market Days is located on North Halsted between Belmont and Addison. Gates open on Friday at 5 p.m. and close at 10 p.m., and both Saturday, August 7, and Sunday, August 8, at 11 a.m. and close at 10 p.m.Is there a charge for admission?
Not officially, but a $15 donation is suggested. Your donation will help support local nonprofits and fund community projects like the Chicago Pride Crosswalks.What acts are performing?

“I did not realize how big of a deal Market Days is. When I went there (for) the first time, I saw how massive it is. And I'm sure this year's Market Days will be epic as well,” Hall told GoPride.com

If people watching is your thing, grab a refreshment and watch the throng of festival attendees. With over 100,000 expected to attend, there will be no shortage of eye-candy for sure. In addition to the live entertainment, Market Days includes 200 unique vendors, arts, crafts, food and drink booths.Will COVID-19 protocols be in place?
Proof of vaccination for entry to outdoor public festivals is not required by the city. However, organizers encourage attendees to be vaccinated or wear a mask to keep the community safe.Northalsted Business Alliance announced that it will offer free COVID-19 testing
ahead of Market Days and at the gates via Northshore Clinical Labs.
"We've all endured incredible challenges through the pandemic. Thanks to continuing vaccinations, we'll be able to celebrate Market Days as a community once again," said festival organizer Mark Liberson.
Additionally, a majority of the Northalsted bars are requiring patrons to show proof of vaccination
