iCRYO has arrived in Edgewater at 1130 West Granville Avenue in Chicago and self-care is in the air. After originally opening in 2015 in Texas, franchise locations have grown around the globe. The title references Apple's lowercase branding and cryotherapy, the process of exposing the body to cold temperatures for therapeutic results. Cold therapy has been in use for centuries, but it was developed to treat ailments like rheumatoid arthritis beginning in the '70s.
Professional athlete Kyle Jones is the CEO and co-founder of iCRYO and the new Edgewater location is part of a project from several members of the LGBTQ+ community.
Their business focuses on high-tech gadgets to improve health and wellness within a guided retail atmosphere. There are perks for return guests through subscriptions and lifestyle passes.
There's a lot to learn and the trained team at iCRYO can make it easier. With this many services, the organization breaks them down into three categories: The Lifestyle section includes red light therapy, compression therapy and float therapy. Medical services ranging from iV drip infusions to iM shots, intramuscular injections for quick absorption. The third section is Body Sculpting, which uses radio frequency devices and new technology to attack fat.
Whole body cryotherapy, or WBC, may reduce inflammation and stimulate recovery from injuries. Cold plunge or stand-up cryotherapy can yield the same results by briefly freezing tissue. Displayed on the wall of the new Chicago location, next to the chambers, is a list of possible benefits from cryotherapy. Ready for an ice-cold shower? Clothing is provided for the experience, along with protective gear and headphones to listen to music, which distracts from the cold.
Nearby is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy machine used to stimulate the natural healing process and a medical consultation is required before use.
Don't sleep on the powerful compression sleeves made for the upper and lower parts of the body to stimulate circulation. There's much more to explore in this safe and sterile setting, so take your time while elevating your wellness in Edgewater. For people in iLLINOIS, iCRYO could be the answer to the aches and pains of life.
