Kesha Rose Sebert took over Tinley Park on July 12 at the Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre with a sold-out show. The 38-year-old singer has come a long way since her previous live performances in the Chicago area over the years.
The concert started earlier than planned, with electro singer Slayyyter beginning almost 30 minutes before her scheduled set time on a stage with set pieces and equipment scattered on the stage. While she didn't exactly slay, she showed some vocal prowess and material matching the raunchiness of the headliner.
The Scissors Sisters commanded more attention with a reunited trio of Jake Shears, Babydaddy and Del Marquis from the original lineup of the rock band. The group's enchanting sing-along songs and onstage personas created a breezy, summer atmosphere inside the venue that spilled out onto the lawn.
Finally, Kesha took to the Feeld with a brief Freedomme video promotion for the location-based dating application. Connecting with inclusive and open-minded people was the perfect match for a singer with a rainbow of loyal followers. This was reflected in the fashion prominently on display in the Park that night, with animal print patterns, pink apparel and loads of glitter in every corner.
Beginning with “TikTok” and holding a replica representing her past persona in the form of a mannequin head, Kesha was out to make a statement. She stated that she had not played many of the tracks on her setlist in at least 13 years and had reproduced them. The talented songwriter plowed through a daunting 28 songs from her lengthy career with gusto and high production.
The Tits Out Tour featured songs from ., her recently released record on her own label, blending new tracks like “Yippee-Ki-Yay” with 2013's hit “Timber.” She took the guitar several times to show her strumming techniques and gave an unforgettable live performance that exhibited a fresh confidence throughout her catalogue of work.
Her costume changes were executed smoothly and she wore a straitjacket for artistic expression for “Fine Line.” She looped around the theater amongst the spectators to meet them up close and personal. Kesha expressed how much she adored her listeners and squeezed in a few revealing, personal stories before the end.
This is what Kesha fans have been hoping, waiting and “Praying” for! Follow the “Warrior” at keshaofficial.com as she returns to her roots in Tennessee on July 15, 2025.
