Fans of the hit USA Network' s original series Psych who attended this year's Comic-Con were treated to a sneak peek at a two-hour musical episode airing this winter at an exclusive showing on Wednesday July 17. After a hilarious and informative panel this afternoon, I caught up with stars James Roday (Shawn), Dule Hill (Gus), and Kirsten Nelson (Chief Vick.)

Danny Bernardo (DB) : Did any of you have any musical theatre background or training before you started the musical episode? Kirsten Nelson (KN) I danced and sang all throughout grade schoole and high school. I actually went to the Franklin Fine Arts Center, a performing arts school in Old Town. The musical Two By Two was my absolute favorite to do. Dule Hill (DH) Yeah, I did musicals back in New York. I appeared on Broadway in Bring In The Noise, Bring In Da Funk , Tap Dance Kids , Black and Blue , and many others. I've been very lucky to have worked with so many great legends in both jazz, tap, and the theatre.

DB : Who has been the coolest guest star this season? James Roday (JR): I absolutely loved having Cary Elwes back and I'm not just saying that because he's sitting right next to me. DH : I'm going to say the best guest star hasn't come yet. They've all been so awesome, they just keep topping each other. I can't wait to see who guest stars this coming season.

DB: Speaking of next season, what can fans look forward to KN : I just finished reading the season 8 finale, and I really liked that it brought back around to the core relationship between Shawn and Henry (Shawn's father, played by Corbin Bensen. ) There's a moment that everyone's going to like that really brings the Henry/Shawn relationship back around.

DB : One of my favorite things about the series is the "bromance" between Shawn and Gus. You guys seem to have so much fun on-camera. Does that carry over off-camera? JR : I think the key to that is that it's all been about respect and having a good time. We leave all our baggage off-set. DH : It's been pretty breezy, man. I can't believe it's been eight seasons. We laugh so much, it's contagious, we have so much fun working with each other. Working with James' comedy brain, his improv background, I've grown as a comedic actor because of working with him.
