LGBT non-profits accept online donations on #GivingTuesday

First there was Black Friday, then Cyber Monday, and now #GivingTuesday. Unlike those other days, Giving Tuesday is about philanthropy.
A national social media movement started in 2012 by the UN Foundation, the goal of Giving Tuesday is to shift the focus from buying to giving back to a good cause.
Last year, Chicago House CEO Stan Sloan told ChicagoPride.com that between 80-90 percent of their individual support comes from end-of-year gifts.
"It is also a time when people who are in need tend to be more vulnerable... to weather... to poverty... to loneliness and psychological depression," Sloan added.
Chicago House is among a number of LGBT non-profits, including AIDS Foundation of Chicago, Affinity Community Services, Center on Halsted, Equality Illinois, and Howard Brown accepting online donations on #GivingTuesday.
Make online donations to Chicago LGBT non-profits:
AIDS Foundation of Chicago: AFC has two large giving opportunities. First, a $15,000 challenge gift generously donated by Anthony Bruck, an AFC Board member, and an additional match for gifts from new donors. (Donate online)
Affinity Community Services: Affinity's board president, Ebonie Davis, is matching all gifts up to $1,000. (Donate online)
Equality Illinois: EQIL is accepting contributions in an attempt to hit a goal of 1,000 donations today. (Donate online)
