Cubs begin playoffs tonight; traffic alert for Lakeview

The Chicago Cubs begin National League Central Division playoff action tonight at Wrigley Field in Chicago's Lakeview neighborhood.
With the expectation of larger-than-usual crowds, the City of Chicago's Office of Emergency Management and Communication (OEMC) has instituted a number of parking and vehicle restrictions.
Playoff games that begin after 5:00pm are considered Night Games and Cubs Night Game restrictions will be in place. Residents and their guests in zone LV2 will be required to display an LV2 permit from 5:00pm - 10:00pm. Residents and their guests in zone 383 will be required to display a residential parking permit or guest pass by 5:00pm.
During home playoff games, street parking will not be allowed on Clark Street from Newport to Irving Park Road, on Addison from Lakewood to Wilton, on Racine from Eddy to Clark, and on Irving Park from Clark to Ashland.
Non-resident and non-Cubs traffic will be diverted away from the neighborhood during peak traffic hours. Hard closures where no vehicles will be allowed will be in place on Clark from Waveland to Cornelia, Sheffield from Addison to Waveland, and Addison from Racine to Wilton up to three hours before and one hour after the game.
Residents living South of Irving Park, East of Ashland, and North of Belmont will need to have 383, LV2 or LV2 Access Passes to get home during clinch games.

During the home playoff games, including this Wednesday and Thursday, the best way to come to the Lakeview area – including Boystown Chicago - is by the CTA.
