Center on Halsted remains open during extreme cold

Chicago, IL - Center on Halsted, 3656 N. Halsted will remain open Monday serving as a warming center for those who need a place to seek shelter from the sub-zero temperatures.

The Senior Center will be open all day where Center on Halsted staff will be serving coffee and tea. Visitors are welcome throughout the day. 

Several areas businesses have announced that they will not be open due to the dangerous weather conditions.

Pie Hole Pizza Joint, 3477 N. Broadway and 5001 N. Clark, will be closed Monday, owner Doug Brandt confirmed to ChicagoPride.com.

Taverna 750, 750 W. Cornelia Ave., will be closed Monday and Tuesday because of a pre-planned break for their staff.

Cesars on Broadway, 2924 N. Broadway, is also closed Monday.

Halsted's Bar and Grill, 3441 N. Halsted, and Replay Beer & Bourbon, 3439 N. Halsted, will be open Monday, while Elixir Lounge, 3452 N. Halsted, is closed. Hydrate Nightclub remains temporarily closed through mid-February for extensive remodeling.

Roscoe's Tavern, 3356 N. Halsted will be open Monday from 4 p.m. until 2 a.m. And the show tunes must go on, Sidetrack, 3349 N Halsted, opens at 3 p.m.
