Chicago, IL - In celebration of Spirit Day, the Chicago-based editors of the anthology BOYS, Zach Stafford and Nico Lang, will host a Google Hangout with contributors from the book.

Starting at 1:00 p.m. (CST) on Oct. 17, Stafford and Lang will speak with The San Francisco Examiner columnist Oscar Raymundo, NYC-based activist and writer Alok Vaid-Menon, founder of Hello Mr. magazine Ryan Fitzgibbon, and editor of The Huffington Post - Gay Voices Noah Michelson, all of whom were among the many BOYS' contributors.

"Spirit Day is not only about wearing purple and changing our social media profiles, but it's also, and maybe most importantly, about having honest conversations with others about bullying and it's affects on LGBTQ lives," Stafford told ChicagoPride.com. "Bullying is one of the biggest obstacles for LGBTQ people and even their allies. To have such a global day bring attention to this is quite amazing and potentially transformative."

Stafford said the group will discuss the book, individual essays, why they chose these stories, and how bullying has affected their lives and writing. He also encouraged viewers to also submit questions.

RSVP and join the Google Hangout with the BOYS: https://plus.google.com/events/cpbop39ocjo1u8c9mg8g6r005rg.

BOYS, which will be released as an ebook on Halloween and in print this November, is a collaborative effort among an array of writers that challenges the reader to reimagine the meaning of being a boy in today's world. The anthology explores lives of gay, queer, and trans men from different parts of the world.

BOYS will be available for pre-sale on Oct. 17 via iTunes and Amazon. The proceeds from the book will be donated to the Lambda Literary Foundation in support of LGBT literature and writers.
