Chicago, IL - A body was recovered from Lake Michigan at Belmont Harbor on the North Side Thursday morning and authorities believe it is Christopher Evans.

The body of a black man in his 20s was recovered by Chicago Police around 9 a.m. and authorities have tentatively identified it as Evans. Officials said they were awaiting postive identification from the family, according to the Chicago Tribune. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday.

Evans was last seen leaving a pride event at Roscoe's, 3356 N. Halsted St., around 1:30 a.m. on Sun., June 30. The 25-year-old part-time student at Loyola University walked east on W. Roscoe St. after he became nervous and left the bar alone, according to friends.

His car was later found by friends on Monday parked near the intersection of Broadway and Cornelia Ave, not far from Belmont Harbor.

Loyola University police arrived on the scene at the harbor Thursday morning, but did not talk to reporters. Chicago Police later canceled a missing persons alert for Evans at 11:30 a.m. Thursday.

Friends and family were passing out flyers in the Boystown neighborhood on Wednesday and early Thursday morning. Evans' family had offered a $2,000 reward earlier Thursday.

Authorities are asking anyone with information to call Chicago Police detectives at 312-747-5789.
