Chicago, IL - Former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton will headline the 5th annual Chicago House Speaker Series event Wed., Sept. 18 at the Chicago Hilton, 720 S. Michigan Avenue.

"Our staff and board continue to work so hard to shed light on issues that are important to Chicago House and our own community, all alongside the inspirational words of amazing and respected leaders," said Jeremy Hilborn, Chicago House Director of Individual Giving and Special Events. "We are proud to welcome Secretary Clinton to celebrate the fifth anniversary of this inspirational event."

A native of Illinois, Clinton served as the 67th U.S. Secretary of State from 2009 to 2013, serving under President Barack Obama. She was previously a U.S. Sen. for New York and a leading candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2008.

The Annual Speaker Series, which originated from a desire to raise awareness and education around the key issues of HIV/AIDS and homelessness, has featured great minds in philanthropy, business, entertainment and politics, including former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, award-winning actor Whoopi Goldberg and designer Kenneth Cole.

In its inaugural year in 2009, the organization welcomed President Bill Clinton to kick off what has now become its largest and most impactful annual fundraising event.

"Five years ago, when the Speaker Series concept was just a dream, we never imagined it could become such a highly regarded fundraising vehicle," commented Hilborn.

Led by Chicago House Trustee and returning event chair, Todd Hamilton of Bolder Capital, and new co-chairs Christy Cressey and Michael Leppen, guests will enjoy a three-course lunch in the Chicago Hilton's beautiful International Ballroom. The event expects over 1,200 attendees and will kick off with a VIP reception, followed by a lunch presentation with Secretary Clinton.
