Comedian Margaret Cho told a recent Australian stand-up audience that John Travolta is "incredibly flamboyant gay."
The 44-year-old Cho, who is openly bisexual, played Travolta's FBI colleague in the 1997 action movie Face/Off. She currently plays Teri Lee, a paralegal assistant, on cabler Lifetime's dramedy Drop Dead Diva.
"John Travolta is so gay," Cho is quoted as telling an audience by the UK tabloid Daily Mail. "I'm going to get in trouble but I'll just tell you. He's not just gay. He doesn't just like men. He is like Oscar Wilde gay, like Lord Byron gay. That kind of crazy, incredibly flamboyant gay."
"I feel bad for him, because I know he would be much happier if he could just come out. But he can't.
On the set of Face/Off Travolta "was so pampered and so taken care of, it was the closest I have ever been to being in the presence of a king," she said, then joked, "Or a queen, actually."
She concluded: "But I felt bad for him because he was so gay and couldn't be out about it."
