Gay Games Clears Final Hurdle for Rowing Event

Village of Lakewood votes 3-1 in Favor
Crystal Lake, IL -
A third and final vote to approve the Gay Games use of rowing facilities in Crystal Lake, Illinois was issued Tuesday by the Village of Lakewood in a 3-1 vote.
The Village of Lakewood was the final step in securing the rowing facilities.
Earlier last month, the Gay Games received approval from the Crystal Lake Park District board and the Village board of Crystal Lake.
"We're very excited to be coming out here," Gay Games Sports Director Nancy Harris told the Chicago Tribune. "It's a wonderful venue."
Crystal Lake is about fifty miles northwest of Chicago.
