Washington, D.C. - A Girl Scout from California is pushing for everyone to boycott Girl Scout cookies, because the girls' group allows transgender kids to join.

In a video on YouTube and pushed by the conservative group "Honest Girl Scouts," the girl, who identifies herself as "Taylor," says the Scouts are using cookie money to promote "the desires of a small handful of people."

The website "Honest Girl Scouts" goes farther, offering posters and PDFs titled "You Deserve to Know What Girls Scout Cookies Fund," which lists the alleged liberal sins of the Girl Scouts, including:

1. "Association and Membership Fees to Participate in abortion and homosexual rights advocacy groups..."

2. "Salaries for GSUSA Executive Staff who are leaders in the homosexual rights movement: Deb Taft, Lynn Cothren, and Timothy Higdon, as well as Media Spokesperson, Joshua Ackley. Ackley stars in homopunk music videos..."

3. "GSUSA's movement of 'inclusion' which recently led it to publicly admit they have been hiding 'transgender' boys in Girls Scouts..."

A Girl Scout spokesperson told the Washington Postthat transgender children are sometimes allowed in troops.

"We handle cases involving transgender children on a case by case basis with a focus on ensuring the welfare and best interests of the child in question and the other girls in the troop as our highest priority," the spokesperson said.
