Claremont, Calif. - Vandals knocked over part of an unusual pro-gay nativity scene at a church in Claremont, Calif., over Christmas weekend.

Claremont United Methodist Church is a pro-gay congregation. Their nativity included silhouettes of a gay couple and a lesbian couple under the star of Bethlehem with a sign that said "Christ is Born."

Someone knocked over the gay and lesbian couples, but left up the heterosexual couple.

"Christ's birth in a stable had a lot to do with poverty and being marginalized," Pastor Sharon Rhodes-Wickett told the Los Angeles Times. "What this church has tried to do through these scenes is say, 'What would that look like today?'"

There are no suspects.
