Washington, D.C. - The FBI is quietly furious over the possibility that a new Clint Eastwood/Leonardo DiCaprio movie about J. Edgar Hoover will portray the legendary FBI boss as gay.

There have long been rumors that Hoover was more than just friends with aide Clyde Tolson.

And earlier this year, the Society of Former FBI Agents sent Eastwood a pointed memo about a rumored kissing scene in the movie, called "J. Edgar."

Assistant FBI Director Mike Kortan has met with both Eastwood and DiCaprio twice in the past year, but he said the meetings were at their request, not his.

"We provided information so their story was accurate," he told USA Today. "What they did... was entirely in their hands."

Now, a trailer in which Edgar and Tolson are holding hands has inflamed passions again.

Former Hoover aide "Deke" DeLoach told USA Today that he met with DiCaprio for hours and told him in no uncertain terms that Tolson and Hoover were just friends.

"I traveled with him, I ate in his home and he in mine. I knew Clyde Tolson to be Mr. Hoover's companion and best friend. When you are somebody like Mr. Hoover, I guess you need somebody to talk to," DeLoach said.
