Seattle -
Seattle resident Dr. Louis C. Chen is being charged with two counts of first-degree murder for the deaths of his partner, Eric Cooper, and their three-year-old son.
A hospital worker found Chen, Cooper and the little boy in their apartment on Thursday. Cooper and the child had been stabbed to death, and Chen was semi-conscious and suffering from knife wounds, said the Seattle Times.
The newspaper said the child had been adopted from Asia.
Chen was supposed to start his new job as an endocrinologist at Virginia Mason Medical Center this week. He had graduated from University of Chicago's Pritzker School of Medicine in 2000.
Chen and Cooper and their child had just moved to Seattle from Durham, N.C.
