New York City - Comedian Tracy Morgan, who was roundly criticized after he said during a performance that he'd stab any son who came out gay, met with LGBT teenagers in New York City on Friday.

Morgan talked with teenagers who were forced into homelessness by parents who were no doubt spouting the same sort of ignorance he had in his performance.

The teenagers all live in the Al Forney apartments in Brooklyn.

"At first I thought that he was just a public figure who messed up so he was doing this for his career," Raciel Castillo told the Wall Street Journal. But he said that after he told Morgan about how his own father kicked him out for being gay, Morgan really seemed impacted.

"I felt like he really did want to change his message," Castillo said.

Morgan cried at the end of the visit and did not talk to the press on his way out.
