P.Y.G. embraces being yourself and gives back to other local charities

Chicago, IL - Professional Young Gays, a social and business networking initiative designed to connect young, business-minded gay men and women, kicks off spring with its premiere Freedom To Be Yourself Spring Mixer on Thursday, April 21.

Inspired by the movements and high-energy tastemakers and artistic creations of the 60s, in particular Andy Warhol's factory, the upcoming mixer is an ode to being yourself; over cocktails.

"I think the Freedom To Be Yourself Spring Mixer will be a fun and creative approach to networking and raising money for some worthy causes," said P.Y.G. founder Terrence Chappell. "It will certainly be an evening to remember and a great kick-off to our summer events."

John Allan's Chicago, a high-end grooming spa located at 111 W. Jackson Blvd, will host the mixer at its penthouse house location in the city's financial district from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The AIDS Foundation of Chicago, Chicago House and Social Service Agency, and Howard Brown Health Center all signed up as the charity benefactors.

"We're so very excited to have three amazing charities on board with this event," said Chappell.

A host committee of socially active and aware professionals from each charity and other LGBT prominent businesses and organizations will welcome guests to an evening of complimentary Veev Vodka cocktails, complimentary mini grooming services, gift bags filled with goodies, music, an exclusive raffle, and other fun surprises.

Professional Young Gays Inc., also known as P.Y.G., was founded in June of 2010 by Chappell, who also serves a editor-at-large for ChicagoPride.com.

With this event, Chappell says P.Y.G. will fulfill its mission of not only connecting young professionals in the LGBT community but also giving back to LGBT focused and friendly charities.

There is a $10 requested donation, $5 for students with school ID. Guests can RSVP to events@p-y-g.org and are encouraged to get there early, as space will fill fast. For more information about P.Y.G., visit its website at www.p-y-g.org or on Facebook at www.facebook.com/pygchicago.com.
