Archie Comics launching 'Kevin Keller' gay mini-series

There has been such a positive response to Archie Comic's new gay character, "Kevin Keller," that the publisher is putting out an entire "Kevin Keller" series.
"Kevin" joined Archie, Veronica and Betty at Riverdale High last year.
"I think as time marches on, gay characters in comics will become more commonplace and it won't be a big media event every time a gay character is introduced," writer Dan Parent told the Associated Press.
Parent said the series will explore what happens when Kevin comes out of the closet. It will also talk about his relationship with his father.
Parent said that there have been many modern story lines in the Archie series, including the death of a teacher from cancer.
