Wyoming legislators pass anti-gay marriage bill

The Wyoming House passed a bill Monday which would prohibit the state from recognizing gay marriages conducted in other states.
The State Senate is expected to approve the bill as well, the Wyoming Tribune reported.
A supporter of the anti-gay bill said that the law is needed to resolve a conflict in Wyoming statutes, which require the state to recognize marriages performed in other states, but also define marriage as being between "one male and one female person."
Wyoming legislators had rejected similar bills in the past, but the November election created a lot of turnover.
Interestingly, the Wyoming House Judicial Committee is also considering a bill that would legalize civil unions in Wyoming.
