Charlotte, N.C. -
Mecklenburg County Commissioner Bill James might be censured at Tuesday night's meeting after calling gays "sexual predators" when asked about "Don't Ask, Don't Tell."
James' personal website, billjames.org, is filled with even more vindictive commentary, including a PDF called "The Red Phone" which claims that gays are 7 to 11 times more likely to abuse children than the general population.
Mecklenburg County includes Charlotte, North Carolina.
The board might also consider a general resolution against bias.
"He has the right to his own philosophy and opinion about things in life," Commissioner Harold Codgell, Jr. told FOX Charlotte. "I don't think it's in line with the majority of this Board. What we want to do is make sure public officials speak out in one unified voice regarding community values."
