Marie Osmond is furiously denying rumors that her son, Michael, was gay and that he committed suicide because the Mormon faith would not accept him.
"My son was not gay," Osmond told Oprah Winfrey on a show that aired Thursday. "He wanted to be married and have a family and travel all over the world. And it wouldn't matter if he was -- I have a daughter who's gay."
Osmond said that her daughter was particularly offended by the rumor, since it implies that everyone who is gay wants to commit suicide.
Osmond also said that Michael was not taking drugs when he jumped, although he had been treated for a drug addiction.
"He was just lost," she said.
