The legendary Northalsted Halloween Parade is today in Lakeview

The parade hosted by Miss Foozie will include floats for the first time

Chicago, IL - The Northalsted Halloween Parade emceed by the incomparable Miss Foozie kicks off at 6:15 p.m. today. The parade, now in its 14th year, will feature the theme "Little Street of Horrors," taken from the from the Hollywood film and Broadway show "Little Shop of Horrors."

Drawing a broad mix of area residents, including children, families and even pets, the Northalsted Halloween Parade is always guaranteed to be one of the city's most outrageous and imaginative Halloween celebrations, with hundreds of participants parading down Halsted Street.

The legendary annual parade, presented by the Northalsted Business Alliance, in conjunction with Triangle Neighbors Association, steps off at 6:15 p.m. today from Belmont and Halsted. Registration begins at 3 p.m. at Spin Nightclub, 800 W. Belmont.

Winners of the costume contest for kids and pets are announced immediately after the parade, followed by adult and group contest winners on the Main Stage at Roscoe and Belmont beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Categories for this year's costume contest includes: Best Kids', Best Pet, Best Drag, Scariest Adult Costume, Most Original, Best Theme Costume, Best Couple and Best Group.

Organizers have also announced that for the first time the parade will include a limited number of floats.
