Chicago, IL - The Belmont station on the Chicago Transit Authority's Red, Brown and Purple lines has been named Chicago's most romantic ‘L' station. The Red Line is the most romantic train.

This according to Craigslist, which conducted a four-week study of more than 250 ads in their Missed Connections section. They studied the lines using what they called the Train Romance Index Score Total (aka TRIST).

The TRIST is calculated by dividing the number of missed connections that mention a particular CTA station or line by the number of riders a year who use that station or line. That number is multiplied by 10 to get a whole number and rounded to two decimal places.

Based on the TRIST, the Belmont station had the best odds of a passenger spotting another rider on a crowded train or platform and later posting a missed connections listing to try to get in touch with the person they saw.

The Belmont station, located in Chicago's Lakeview neighborhood, is one of two ‘L' stations serving Boystown.
