Chicago, IL - Following on the Senate's decision to delay debate on the annual Defense policy bill that included a repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell, U.S. Representative Mike Quigley (D-IL) appeared at a community forum to discuss federal LGBT issues at the Center on Halsted on Monday.

The event, hosted and organized by LGBT rights advocacy groups Equality Illinois and Human Rights Campaign (HRC), was an opportunity for Quigley to publicly discuss the current state of LGBT federal statutes including Employment Non-Discrimination Act, Don't Ask Don't Tell, the Defense of Marriage Act, the FDA blood ban on gay and bisexual men, and the status of same-sex couples in immigration reform.
