Gay porn actor can keep police certification, board rules

When he was 22-years-old, Mike Verdugo was exploring his sexuality by taking part in a gay bondage porn flick called "Rope Rituals."
Now, he's a 36-year-old man on a mission to keep his job as a Hollywood, Florida police officer.
Hollywood police fired him after learning of his gay porn past over the internet.
The Miami Herald reports that their rationale was that he should have disclosed the previous employment on his job application, which he filled out three years after he was paid $700 to be in the film.
This past Thursday, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement voted unanimously to reinstate his police certification. Now he's just waiting for a court hearing on his dismissal from the Hollywood police department.
Verdugo was also a contestant on HGTV's "Design Star." He was dumped from the show when the porn accusations came out.
