Market Days this weekend in Lakeview

Chicago, IL - Non-stop music, an eclectic mix of over 400 vendors and diversity galore are all guaranteed to be in the mix at the 29th annual Northalsted Market Days, the largest two-day outdoor street festival in the Midwest, happening this Saturday and Sunday on Halsted Street between Belmont and Addison.

Among the 40-plus performers on Northalsted Market Days' four music stages (which includes one dedicated to jazz) will be rock legend Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, Latin crooner Jon Secada, American Idol finalists Blake Lewis as well a Gina Glockson, original Broadway "Dreamgirl" Jennifer Holliday, and LGBT favorites Cathy Richardson and Adam Barta.

"I'm ready to turn all of North Halsted into a giant VIP party with fun for everyone," Barta tells ChicagoPride.com. "Hopefully people that get close to the stage won't mind getting a little... wet!"

Another big draw of Market Days are the 400 food and unique arts & craft vendors. From the tried and true to the zany and unique, the artisans (as well as food offerings) at the fest promise something for every taste!

The annual event along Halsted Street between Belmont Avenue and Addison Street is on from 11 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday. Stages will be set up at Belmont Avenue, Roscoe Street and Brompton Avenue.
