Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame deadline extended

The nomination deadline for induction into the Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame has been extended to August 3.
The Hall of Fame was started by the city of Chicago in 1991 to recognize the contributions of gays and lesbians, as well as friends of the community.
Nomination forms are available online.
The ceremony to induct the nominees will be held October 21 at the Chicago Cultural Center.
Past inductees have included Hull House founder Jane Addams, cartoonist and AIDS activist Daniel Sotomayor, and friend of the community Mayor Richard M. Daley.
