Meanwhile, one Wachowski sibling is now MTF

Chicago, IL - The siblings who brought us "The Matrix" are reportedly working on a new movie about a gay romance between a U.S. soldier and an Iraqi civilian.

Lana and Andy Wachowski have not done well at the box office in recent years. Their most recent big-budget movie, "Speed Racer," was a bomb.

Mike Fleming of Deadline NY broke this story.

"It's a cinema verite-style treatment that begins in the near future and then spans back over years that include the current war in Iraq," he reported. "I've heard the siblings completed the script, want to direct it next, and that it is out to financiers."

This would not be the first time the Wachowskis ventured into gay territory. One of their first movies was the lesbian heist flick "Bound."

If this gay Iraq war romance does come to fruition, it may also shine more of a spotlight on Lana Wachowski (formerly Larry).

Although she has not given any interviews on the subject, reports show that Lana has been transitioning from MTF for about seven years now.

This spring, her page on the Internet Movie Database started listing her as "Lana Wachowski" aka "Larry Wachowski."

Ariana Huffington might also be involved with this project. She spent a day in Chicago doing a test shoot with the Wachowskis and posted photos on her own website of herself with Andy and Lana.
