Boston, Mass. - The Archdiocese of Boston is investigating a small parish school in Hingham, Mass., after the school accepted -- and then rejected -- an 8-year-old student after learning his parents are lesbians.

"I'm accustomed to discrimination, I suppose, at my age and my experience as a gay woman," one of the moms told WCVB. "But I didn't expect it against my child."

The mothers attended an open house at St. Paul's and listed their names together on all forms. Their son had been admitted to next year's third grade class and they had already been shopping for uniforms.

"We weren't hiding," one mom told the Boston Globe.

The Archdiocese of Boston says they do not have any policies that prohibit children with gay parents from attending their schools.

"We want kids to come to Catholic schools,' spokesman Terry Donilon told the Boston Globe.

The school did not have any comment.
