Chicago House raises $125,000 in weekend events

Sunday was a perfect day for a brunch and not just any brunch. It was the Spring Brunch and Fashion Show, a benefit for Chicago House, held annually at the Harold Washington Library.
A sold-out crowd of 420 people filled the sunny Winter Garden room of the library for what has become the community's favorite spring tradition.
The three-ring fashion show dubbed Cirque included entertainment by Amy Armstrong, The Chicago Cabaret Project, MidTangent Productions and DJ Phil DaBeatz. Many of the models were familiar faces from Chicago's LGBT community.
The Spring Brunch and Fashion Show raised $100,000.
Sunday's event was preceded by the 3rd Annual "Families for Families" Brunch which featured kids fashions by Madison & Friends and entertainment by Radio Disney. Over 200 people attended the "Families" brunch on Saturday at the Harold Washington Library.
The back to back events raised over $125,000 for Chicago House and Social Service Agency which provided permanent, community-based housing, supportive services and basic life skills to individuals, families and children struggling with HIV and AIDS.
The next event coming for Chicago House is the 13th Annual Birdhouse Art Auction and Cocktail Party on June 24.
