Thanksgiving is behind us and winter is in looming in front of us, that doesn't mean that you have to hibernate. You have just a few short weeks left before Christmas and New Years are upon us, but still, what are you going to do this weekend?

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 3

Chicago Fashion Resource will host 'Glitter - A Holiday Shopping Event' at the Chicago Cultural Center from 11AM-8PM today. Admission is free to this event where you can find original deisgner gifts just in time for the holidays from Chicago-based designers and boutiques. Check the site for a full list of participating vendors.

Catch a screening of Andrew Lloyd Webber's classic rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar at the Music Box Theater at 7:30PM. Jim DeRogatis and Greg Kot of Sound Opinions on Chicago Public Radio will host this evenings events.

Head down to the Gene Siskel Film Center for the final screening of Hannah Free, starring Sharon Gless and filmed in Chicago and the surrounding areas. Check out the trailer here, the screening starts at 8:15PM

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 4

Meet up with the Lincoln Park Lagooners for their annual Holly Trolley - Holiday City Lights Tour. Meet at North End Bar at 6:30PM for a delicious buffet and then a trolley ride to Lincoln Park Zoo to see the ZOOLights followed by a two-hour tour of Chicago. Beer, soda and snacks are provided on the trolley and games will surely abound. Tix are $30 per person, check the site for full details as space is limited.

Naked Girls Reading will present Dickens' A Christmas Carol, The Night Before Christmas and more holiday classics at Studio L'amour - 939 W Randolph at 7PM. Tickets are $20 in advance and can be purchased online.

Check out Madam Barker Holiday Variety Show at Prop Theater - 3502 N Elston this evening where celebrity chef Rick Bayless will make guacamole with 500 Clowns, show starts at 11PM, tickets are $10 and can be purchased online.

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 5

The CTA Holiday train will run on the Purple line and the Green Line from 3-7PM. Catch Santa and all of his helpers on this annual Chicago tradition. Check the site for full details and times.

Are you a budding film director? Stop by Chicago Filmmakers this evening for an "Open Screening" where everyone and anyone can screen their masterpiece. The fun starts at 7PM, check the site for full details.

Do you enjoy making your penis do all sorts of wacky stunts? Ever tried to turn it into something that it isn't - like a taco or a hotdog? Check out Puppetry of the Penis at the Lakeshore Theater this weekend with shows on Fri/Sat/Sun. SUNDAY, DECEMBER 6

Head to the United Center for Star Wars: In Concert. Today a full symphony orchestra will play live to selected scenes from the Star Wars movies while projected on large screens around the arena. Anthony Daniels, the actor who portrayed C-3PO in all of the films will introduce each segment of the 2-hour show, there will also be exhibits including original Star Wars memorabilia

Head to Logan Square, specifically the Congress Theater, for the Indoor Winter Farmers Market. Just because winter will soon be here doesn't mean that there aren't plenty of fresh goodies to enjoy. Stop by for an abundant late autumn bounty.

Music is in the air at the Hoover-Leppen Theater at the Center on Halsted as the Windy City Gay Chorus and Aria: Windy City Women's Ensemble present their Holiday Concert 'Winter Wonderland' at 2PM. Additional shows are shceduled for Saturday at 5 and 8PM. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased online.
