The Kimpton Santo San Antonio-Riverwalk is part of the San Francisco-based brand owned by InterContinental Hotels Group. The hotel name refers to the Spanish word for “saint,” and the title magnifies a land with deep religious roots.

As of 2026, there are 75 Kimpton hotels open globally and plans are in motion for over 60 properties in the coming years. It is easy to see why the company continues to grow in size and popularity after visiting the property on 431 South Alamo Street.

Bridging the gap between the past and future, this sleek hotel is housed in a historic 1858 German-English schoolhouse following renovations. The architecture, like many buildings in Texas, is a blend of Spanish influences that have been transformed to suit modern times.

This over 13,000 square foot property is San Antonio's first Kimpton location, sporting 347 rooms on 10 floors.

While there are no pearly gates in front of the Santo, arrivals are greeted by an open courtyard, active valet service and charming southern hospitality.

After checking in at the front desk, head up ot the luxurious rooms filled with divine amenities. Guests will discover a coffee machine, comfy robes and a 55-inch smart television.

There's even a complimentary overnight shoeshine and a yoga mat in every room.

Relax your spirit and soul without leaving the sacred grounds of the luxurious property. The concierge and front desk staff are only a text away to assist in guidance.

Reserve a private cabana during the day at the Tenfold Rooftop pool and lounge for breezy fresh air views. At night, find earthly delights at Dean's Steak & Seafood in the heart of the hotel on the ground floor. This upscale steakhouse serves classic cuisine throughout the day, but truly shines in the evening. Dive into the East Coast oysters and don't sleep on the creamy lobster bisque. The caramelized bacon on a bed of lettuce for the Steakhouse Wedge will prepare one's appetite for more meat on the menu, such as the Texas wagyu tomahawk ribeye or one of the seafood house specialties. The twice-baked Billionaire's Potato is a must-try item and add caviar for an extra delight.

Complete the experience with a Santo Margarita, concocted with 21 Seeds Jalapeno Tequila, followed by the 24K gold Heavenly Chocolate Cake.

After such an extravagant dining experience, prepare to sleep in the clouds like an angel. If a wanton traveler is still plagued with insomnia, just venture across the pavilion to find peace at the Plaza San Antonion Hotel & Spa. Covering two 19th-century homes allows privacy and plenty of room to rejuvenate and meditate. Book a session at spaplazasanantonion.com and for locals, maintain the membership, including one signature spa service every month.

La Vilita Historic Arts Village is one of San Antonio's oldest neighborhoods and the village is located right outside of the hotel on the banks of the river. Borrow one of the loaner bikes or explore on foot places like the Starving Artist Art Gallery or the Huipil Market.

Return to the peaceful oasis when needed to rest your weary feet. Kimpto Santo treats patrons like saints and sinners like winners!
