Just a short drive from Chicago, Lake Geneva makes an easy getaway in southeastern Wisconsin with driving times approximately slightly over an hour. No matter when tourists decide to visit, all four seasons have something different to offer visitors.
This trip took place in the fall of 2021 and was a chance to see the breathtaking and colorful foliage as the leaves prepare for winter. There were unique events to experience at an iconic resort during this time of year.
Only three miles from downtown Lake Geneva, Grand Geneva Resort & Spa is a place rich in history and the perfect spot to retreat from life's troubles. This AAA Four-Diamond resort was once the home of the Playboy Club Hotel before it was transformed into the resort it is today. There are 1,300 acres to explore and a tour is highly suggested to not miss the hidden treasure contained on the property.
Many may not know there's even an airport on the grounds. Back in the day, Hugh Hefner had the runway extended after a mishap of landing off the road.
The golf course is quite impressive and there is skiing at The Mountain Top area. Trolleys are available to make places more accessible, just being a phone call or text away. The Adventure Center offers summer excursions on scooters or bikes for plenty of outdoor fun.
Head to the spa after a hike to relax and unwind. Book a massage and enjoy the sauna and steam room as well as the jacuzzi tub.
The hotel rooms have a classic, dark decor that suggests this resort is the perfect place for corporate gatherings and hosting large groups. There are plenty of private areas and a variety of restaurants to choose from.
The grounds are well maintained by a team of dedicated workers and the front desk staff will leave you feeling right at home.
A schedule of activities is offered weekly with the current hours of each area. There's an indoor and outdoor pool with a hot tub nearby to enjoy. Restricting certain hours for adults only would be a welcome addition as there are other opportunities for the kiddies at Timber Ridge Lodge & Waterpark close by the resort.
Grand Geneva Resort and Spa gives the traveler a completely inclusive experience where one won't have to leave the property should there be no desire to. Book your escape to Wisconsin today at GrandGeneva.com!
