Spring seems to have finally arrived in Chicago with a new restaurant opening on April 3. Ocean Prime will hit 87 E Wacker Dr. thanks to founder Cameron Mitchell and Oxford Capital Group, LLC.

Located adjacent to the London House Hotel, this is the prime spot to drop in for some seafood. The establishment offers up to 350 guests a place to enjoy a night out with private dining spaces also as an option.

To actually taste spring in a glass order the Black Orchid. It combines Belvedere Wild Berry Vodka, St. Germain, white cranberry juice and lemon. Served in a martini glass with a flower locked inside an ice cube, this is a cocktail that is completely refreshing and revitalizing.

The shrimp has the wrong name as they are not tiny at all, so dive into the shrimp saute appetizer or try one inside the prime roll with ingredients of tempura shrimp, cream cheese and beef carpaccio.

There are many seafood items to sample on the dinner menu from the light Florida grouper to twin lobster tails.

For dessert, the chocolate peanut butter pie is the only way to go. Not as heavy as it sounds, the chocolate ganache and peanut butter mousse pair well together and add a little coffee to finish things off.

Visit Ocean-Prime.com or call 312-428-4344 to make a reservation today.

Just down the street from Ocean Prime is Macy's on State Street at 111 N. State St. The clothing retailer knows how to heat things up by producing its annual flower show called Journey to Paradisios. This year there's a space theme and music such as the B52s "Planet Claire" blasts out of speakers all around the store.

There several photo opportunities along the path where customers can stroll and shop for out of this world deals. For menswear, Inc International Concepts are my go to brand with a European style that will impress at work or in a casual setting.

There's always lots to explore in the multi level open concept store each season.
