Bacardi presented an outdoor dance party on June 21 at an interesting area called Hubbard's Cave at the intersection of Hubbard and Peoria. Sound of Rum is a movement combining music and cocktails. Artists painted on the walls outside the space in a variety of styles curated by Felipe Pantone.
Along the way to the stage there were bartenders serving festiva drinks and tons of food samples to enjoy.
The weather did not cooperate with the night's plans but Major Lazer powered through like the true professionals they are.
Dancers grooved in the front with Walshy Fire ans Diplo and Jillionaire supported them with the beats.
The beautiful city of Chicago provided the backdrop on a night that had the crowds dancing as the rain poured down.
Another outdoor concert of massive proportions took place over the weekend of June 23 and 24. Mamby on the Beach continues to develop at Oakwood Beach in Chicago. Rapper Common, and indie band Spoon played to fans.
I loved AJR's performance with high energy and leanred more about them backstage when I did an interview with them on the beach.
I discovered Towkio who had moments of Post Malone and was a lot of fun.
The festival was laid out well with plenty to see and do. There was food in every corner and plenty of local vendors to discouss programs with festival goers.
Silent discos are becoming a thing and the Secret Garden was packed full of party people dancing to the quiet beats.
The VIP areas gave attendees a break from the hot sun with shaded areas and this is trongly recommended when buying tickets in the future.
The LGBT community was well represented and this is a safe space where people can epxress themselves freely.
The Community Stage was an important component with locals becoming part of the act. Things like this being offered is a step in the right direction for future of the festival.
