The new movie Baby Driver is crashing into theaters this summer. While it is a confusing title to some, it refers to a getaway car driver named Baby. Ansel Elgort plays Baby, a young man who deals with a car accident condition by listening to music to drown out the ringing in his head.

Luckily he likes a variety of tunes from different genres and time periods. This makes for a great soundtrack for the film. Even with two discs it is not enough to include everything played in the movie such as The Damn's contribution during a high speed chase.

The script is smartly written with a cast that really delivers. What could have been easily forgotten parts are instead quite memorable thanks to pros like Kevin Spacey, Jon Hamm, and Jamie Foxx. Ansel Elgort carries the film on his little shoulders sometimes wihtout much dialogue. There are several musicians with bit parts that are fun to spot like Flea, Big Boi, and Sky Ferreira.

I spoke to Spacey at recent red carpet about the film but wish I had seen it first. I usually don't like car chases but this one had me at Jon Spencer Blues Explosion.

At a recent screening at AMC River East their new Dolby sound system was featured. The new imaging really enhaces the colors in films like Baby Driver. There is new moving audio to jam to the music and the reclining seating will make one feel like they are on the road with Baby. Be sure and check out this new immersion experience this summer!
