Andersonville just a lot more stylish with its newest menswear shop, Notre, located at 5202 N. Clark St. Formerly of Chicago's Haberdash, Notre is the brainchild of seasoned fashion buyer Michael Jaworowski and co-owners Andrew Nordstrom, Jose Villanueva, and Rob Wilce. The boutique carries your usual suspects: Band of Outsiders, Red Wing, 3sixteen, and Filson. Jaworowski has partnered up with his network of designers to offer collections exclusive to Notre, which includes everything from hand-knit fisherman sweaters by S.N.S. Herning to Ron Herman's denim line that launches this spring; Notre will be the only Midwest shop to carry the line. Co-owner Nordstrom attributes Andersonville's bustling sense of community for the reason they decided to open Notre in the area.

"We love the local emphasis Andersonville has. They're emphatic about no big chains or places outside of Chicago as much as they can help it. The Andersonville board of commerce and community has been incredibly supportive of us," says Nordstrom.

Overall Notre has a welcoming atmosphere that invites customers to not only shop but also hang out. The clothes are for the no-fuss casual guy at heart. So, think simple denim, fitted sweatshirts, and dark plaids, which I love! And if the frigid temperatures are keeping you in, take it digital with their online store at www.notre-shop.com. With a median price point of about $300 for jeans and $75 for accessories, the prices are a bit on the steep side. However, with its strategic location in Andersonville, you can just snag yourself a silver fox with good credit and have him take you shopping.
