Trending: Grindr apologizes for sharing HIV data; Adam Rippon coming to Chicago; Trump receives low marks on LGBT rights

Grindr had a bad week starting on Monday, April 2 when BuzzFeed News reported that the popular gay dating app has been sharing its 3.6 million daily active users' data with two other companies, Apptimize and Localytics. By Tuesday, April 3, two senators demanded that Grindr explain how it's sharing its user data. In a video released on Grindr.com, Jack Harrison-Quintana, vice president of social impact at Grindr, apologized "for all of the distress that we've caused over the past two days."

A new poll released this week shows a plurality of American adults disapprove of President Donald Trump's handling of LGBT rights.

Grindr, the hookup app for gay and bisexual men, on Monday said that it would stop sharing HIV status information with third parties.

In an interview with The New York Times, comedian Roseanne Barr claimed that President Donald Trump isn't opposed to LGBT rights.

Following reports that Grindr was sharing sensitive information users choose to include in their profiles, including HIV status, two U.S. Senators called on the company this week to detail how it's using such data.

Out British singer Sam Smith revealed in a new interview that his struggle with mental health has led to sobriety.

Voters in Anchorage, Alaska have rejected a ballot measure that sought to roll back legal protections for transgender people in effect more than two years.

Adam Rippon will be among Olympic figure skaters appearing with the Stars on Ice Tour at AllState Arena on April 29.

 

Starting this weekend, parking on North Halsted in Boystown will end at midnight. This follows a just-passed city ordinance bans all parking along a half-mile stretch of Halsted Street from Belmont to Addison on weekend nights during peak season.
