Erika Jayne has been tearing up the local clubs with her album Pretty Mess and has recently released her fifth single "One Hot Pleasure" following her last four consecutive #1 Billboard Hit Singles.

JN: (Jerry Nunn) Hi, Erika. First off, if someone isn't familiar with you what would you tell them about yourself?

EJ: (Erika Jayne) Well, I was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. My mother was a music teacher along with being a single mom and supporting me. My grandparents were very influential in my life.

JN: Did you study music in school?

EJ: I grew up doing children's theater. I went to a performing arts high school, inner city public school, probably got some of the best training ever. I made long lasting relationships there.

JN:

Where did you go to school at?

EJ:

It went to the North Atlanta School for the Performing Arts. I am from the north side.

JN: I studied performing arts also in the south.

EJ: So you know what those programs are like.

JN:

Oh yeah, grueling…

EJ: True.

JN: The dance, the music…

EJ:

Musical theater, sure.

JN: Would you still like to do musical theatre?

EJ: Would I do musical theater now? Yeah, I mean, I think it would be fun if it were the right show. I enjoy going to see Broadway shows all time. If the right show came along, sure.

JN: Well, you are currently doing very well with your career.

EJ: I am doing well.

JN: Are you making another album?

EJ: We are working on an EP, which should be released after the first of the year.

JN: Anyone that you are working with yet?

EJ: Are you talking collaborations?

That's too early!

JN: Okay.

EJ: But you know day by day it's pretty strong. We are doing production work and Luciana is writing some. She wrote "One Hot Pleasure" for me and we are back at it right away. It's very open at this point.

JN: You performed at Circuit Nightclub in Chicago not to long ago.

EJ: Yes, a few months ago.

JN: How did that go?

EJ: It was good. That was the first time performing in Chicago. It's a lovely city. We have a great time here.

JN: Where do you currently live?

EJ: In Los Angeles.

JN: I just got started being published in Frontiers Magazine in LA.

EJ: Oh yeah? That's big out there!

JN: What do you have to say to your gay fans who have supported you?

EJ: The entire gay and lesbian community has been very supportive of me and I am very proud of that support and I am pleased that they love the material.

JN: I have seen people wear your t-shirts around the city at the gay bars.

EJ: Awesome, I love to hear that. We have new ones now, so they are good, really good.
