Diego Summers is a worldwide DJ, porn star – and often the roles mix

DJ Diego Summers will bring the sounds and sex-appeal to the inaugural Caribbean Gay Spring Break Festival, which will be held March 29-31 on the island of Curacao.
He also does porn.
"People usually ask me, 'Why DJ and porn, how come this combination?'" Summers said in an exclusive interview with GoPride.com. "The answer is simple: Do what you love and don't get stuck in something you dislike. Life is too short to waste time that you could be happy – even on the job."
The sexy, muscle-packed Summers has homes in Barcelona and Amsterdam, and admittedly loves both European cities. "When you can't choose (just one city to live in), you live in both ... why not?! Things will for sure not get boring this way."
Summers is the resident DJ at Backdoor in Amsterdam and at Club Adonis in Belgium.
He has been DJing for years, transitioning from bartending. He's had countless memorable moments spinning for worldwide audiences. Take, for instance, his years at Backdoor in Amsterdam, which has expanded from a small venue to one with multiple rooms, and a "respectful, sweet, genuine and naughty" crowd, he said.
Summers also has DJ memories in Miami, such as in 2015 at Climax and Ruff Miami, which a throng of fan-clapping shirtless hotties. "They make it absolutely clear what they think of your set," he said.
For the past two years, Summers has spun at a street party near Central Station in Amsterdam during its Pride, on the Prik open-air stage. "If you have never been to Amsterdam Pride, then plan (to go); it's amazing. The unity that day in Amsterdam, in the streets and canals, makes this Pride one of the world's best. To contribute to this enormous event as a DJ, with thousands around enjoying your beats, it is an incredible feeling. Nothing compares!"
The Amsterdam Pride gigs have also intertwined Summer's life as a DJ and porn star. After all, countless attendees were screaming, "Diego, broek uit!"
The translation: Diego, pants off.
"I sometimes get hired as a naked DJ and I enjoy being naked and people thinking, 'Who is this freak?!' he said. "The moment people find it normal, I will stop doing it."
Did he take his pants off while DJing?
Of course, he said proudly.
"The joke was on some of them – they did not expect that I was wearing just a tiny jockstrap," he said, laughing.
Summers said being a DJ "is not a job."
Just getting booked as a DJ is a "present," he said.
"I love doing it, so it never feels like work," he added.
Summers enjoys Ariana Grande and Brazilian singer Anitta. "I love their sounds and the power they bring," he said.
Summers also enjoys the work of DJ/producer Rapha Madrid from Barcelona.
"My (DJ) style is, I keep it basic," he said. "Half the time you will see me observing. Like I said ... get a feel what (will) work with the crowd at that moment, and make those hands go up (by) any means necessary."
Summers' sound is circuit house/progressive house, with tribal influences. He also can deliver casual lounge sound, which he noted is good for events that start with big dinners and end in a big party.
The DJ just wants to, "entertain and make people smile," he said.
Summers said that the first concert he ever attended was Michael Jackson, in Amsterdam, when he was 15, "and I will never forget that day," he said.
He hasn't been to a concert in years now, though. "Concerts are usually (held on) Saturday nights, (which is) when I work either as a DJ or live porn show performer," he said.
His first DJ gig was at a small party at a bar that he had worked as a bartender.
"On the weekends they had DJs, but the Thursdays were slow. On the weekends, the music was close to trance, which I did not think fit (at) this party bar and the crowed that usually (went) there. I guess this was my first and most important lesson ever as a DJ: Observe your crowd, feel what they want, see how they respond and adjust accordingly.
"So with this in mind, I suggested the owner to put a DJ on Thursdays playing pop, R&B, Reggaeton ... you know, the (music popular with the gay community, such as) Beyoncé, Madonna, Britney, Kylie and Cher.
"(The) owner told me there was no budget for a DJ, (then asked if I wanted to DJ).
"I thought, 'Why not ... I was getting paid to joke around with music, perfect for me."
Summers admitted that the owner was certain that Summers would "fall flat on my face and fail."
Not so – Summers was a hit, and still is.
After all, Summers' approach is simple: Never get lazy, always look how you can improve, observe other DJs and connect with them to exchange tips and tricks.

Favorite DJ Story: "By far, my first naked-DJ set. It was a party organized by two lesbians for gays, straights, lesbians and whoever else wanted to join. Everybody was welcome, but it was just one night in a straight club with usually a rough crowd. The bartenders had to adjust a bit to the amount of drugs, drags, shirtless boys and lots of dancing and laughter. One of the lesbians came to me just to ask if everything was all right, if I needed anything. She said, 'This club is your home tonight, be as you would be at home.' I looked at her and paused, then joked, 'At home I would be naked.'
"Her eyes got big and she burst out laughing and said, 'I dare you!'
Seconds later, he was naked.
And erect moments later.
"I love to feel free and be looked at as a freak/interesting tease," he said. "Half the people were in total shock and the other half was cheering me on. The thing with me and my dick is: the more people watch me, the harder my dick gets.
"You can only imagine the rest of this crazy night.
"Somebody made a video of this, and it's still going around the world."
Summers on Summers: "I am just a normal guy. I try to show people interest (and) respect, no matter where you are from. I like to be open-minded. I am a strong believer (in) honesty and Karma; they go hand-in-hand and you do not want lady Karma on your bad side. So be nice and behave ... in a naughty way."
On Chicago, Though He Had Never DJ'd In The City: "I always feel good there. Chicago is a city with a fun, liberal gay scene and in general (is) a very social and friendly place to be."
