21st annual Northalsted Halloween Parade steps off at 7:30 p.m. Halloween night in Boystown

Chicago, IL - The legendary Northalsted Halloween Parade, where hundreds of costumed participants march down the streets of Boystown, returns this Tuesday, Oct. 31 under the theme 'Haunted Halsted'.

"Simply put, there's no other city neighborhood that does Halloween better," declared Northalsted Business Alliance Executive Director Chad Honeycutt. "This year will be no exception, we expect everyone to bring their 'A' game for the contest and parade."

Organizers invite ghouls, goblins, zombies and all haunted beings to go above and beyond for this year's parade theme with competitive costume contest award winners being named in four categories: Drag, Group, Scariest and Theme.

Led by Chicago Thriller, the 2017 parade kicks off Halloween night at 7:30 p.m. from the corner of North Halsted and Belmont then travels north to Cornelia where a panel of sassy drag queens will judge costume entries.

A host of Halloween queens will also adorn the parade route, as a 'Thriller" dance party breaks out. Fire eaters and more complete the spooky scene as thousands of people participate along North Halsted.

Participation is free and online registration open now. Participants can also register on-site from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. at North Halsted and Belmont.

After the parade, everyone is encouraged to keep the party going long into the night after the parade by visiting the haunts along North Halsted in Boystown.

Now in its 21st year, The Northalsted Halloween Parade is sponsored by the Northalsted Business Alliance, the same group behind Chicago Pride Fest and Northalsted Market Days.
