Chicago, IL - Queen of Soul Aretha Franklyn is back with re-mixes of her new cut "The Only Thing Missing" on Arista. Re-mixer Furilla gives a hype-house vocal and dub that work well with Aretha's aging vocals. House veteran Blaze delivers vocal, DJ and dub work that are soulful house like only Blaze can deliver. Even the legendary Gorgio Moroder throws some spice in this soup for a touch of class. Welcome back, Aretha! - Chris Eterno

Victor Calderone & Sting have returned! "Desert Rose" was such a classic that they waited several years before teaming again. A sure-fire hit, "Send Your Love" (A&M Records) combines Victor’s classic big room sound with Sting’s haunting vocals. Mac Quayle lends Victor a hand in creating a steady increase of tribal drums layered with Sting’s distinct voice. - Greg Drescher

Following up their #1 hit "I'll Be There For You" are the Weekend Players with "Into The Sun" on Multiply Records. WP enlist the help of prog-euro re-mixers such as the Static Avengers, Riva and Chab. The most dancefloor friendly of the mixes is the Chab slice- up with a groovy kick, deep keys and haunting vocals. The Weekend Players may repeat a chart top with this cute tune. - CE

Harlequin Records has been quiet of late but returns full force with "Wurkin’", the hit release from Housekeeperz (Alyson Calagna & Barry Huffine) feat. CeeVox. Alyson & Barry may be new in the remixing world but their "Dirty Laundry Mix" and "Diagnosed with Drama Dub" will be heard in peak hour sets for months to come. And if you think that CeeVox just knows how to sing, listen to the "Tribal Tool Mix" for her own take on the track. Wurk it, gurl! - GD

Mariah strikes back with her re-make of the Def Leppard hit "Bringin' On The Heartbreak" on Island Records. Junior Vasquez works overtime with 9 mixes from which to choose. The most notable is his World Mix, which gives us typical Junior drop-drama crossed with a newer selection of beat work. This mix is more DJ friendly than most of Jr's current creations. Carey hits her notes in all the right places and gives the queens another anthem for which to live. Grade A - CE
