Chicago, IL - As you recover from two fantastic Pride weekends, take a moment to check out this "Solidarity" video featuring a host of Chicago's queer nightlife community. In the wake of the tragedy in Orlando, this family of performers, organizers, DJs and more -- including this Sunday's parade grand marshal and Chicago Fire star Monica Raymund and the legendary JoJo Baby -- want to bring awareness to the plentiful and varied queer spaces that refuse to bow to fear here in Chicago.

"Queer spaces are our sanctuaries," Kristen Kaza, co-producer of the project, said. "It's a part of our queer history to come together on the dance floor and a tradition we'll continue to carry. We want our communities to know that we got them and we love them."

The video's theme is "strength, positivity and hope" for Chicago's increasingly visible queer community as well as for the the LGBTQ community at large. Speaking openly and from the heart, featured personalities like drag performer Imp Queen, nightlife organizer and personality Scott Cramer and the group behind Beauty Bar's Salathon send a message of "unity and community" in this time of crisis.

"The 20+ Queer nightlife leaders who put this project together want their community to know that their doors are open and their spaces will continue to thrive, refusing to hide from any terror or hostility," according to Solidarity's press release.. "They encourage the Chicago queer community to stand tall and together, now more than ever."
