Rally to take place in front of Center on Halsted at 7pm

Chicago, IL - UPDATE (5/26 12:13pm): The California Supreme Court upheld the anti-gay Proposition 8. Protest rally in lakeview scheduled for 7pm tonight in front of the Center on Halsted.

Today, "Day of Decision" rallies will be held in over 100 cities nationwide. The rallies will either celebrate or protest the Supreme Court's decision, which is scheduled to be published and released at noon (CST).

Gay-marriage supporters and allies anxiously await the California Supreme Court decision either affirming or rejecting the anti-gay marriage Proposition 8.

The actions are being coordinated nationally through the www.DayOfDecision.org website co-founded by Chicago gay activist Andy Thayer and pioneer national lesbian activist Robin Tyler, who are petitioners (plaintiffs) in the case brought before the California Supreme Court to overturn Proposition 8.

Chicago's rally will begin at 7pm tonight, in front of the Center on Halsted community center which is located at 3656 North Halsted St.
