Hair stylist Adam Bogucki opens Lumination Salon in West Lakeview

After working the past eight years at two bigger hair salons in Chicago, stylist Adam Bogucki has ventured out on his own. On Feb 1, he opened Lumination Salon in West Lakeview, at the corner of Lincoln and Roscoe.
Bogucki worked at Robert Jeffrey in Andersonville for five years and, for the past three years, has been the Creative Director and Master Stylist at XO Studio.
At Lumination, he now can "focus on each client and their needs in a private, intimate setting," he said. Plus, Bogucki also educates for Living Proof, a line of hair products, so owning his own business gives him a little more flexibility with his schedule, so he can teach others about products and techniques.
"My strength in hair is my ability to create the perfect cut and color for each client," Bogucki said. "I like to take into consideration a person's lifestyle, styling capabilities and desires, as well as their current hair texture to make sure I am creating a style they will love.
"In my studio, the client is the main and only focus. We are able to create a stronger bond with no interruptions and I am able to really give a customized experience."
Bogucki, 34, is from Fairbury, a small town in Central Illinois. He now lives in Edgewater. His new salon "will continue to service my diverse clientele," he said.
"I am lucky enough to have a great mix of male and female clients, which keeps my days interesting," he said. "I try to really listen and connect to my clients. Working in a salon suite is an amazing opportunity to give a great experience."
Lumination will offer the top brands, "that will truly help my clients create the looks they want at home while keeping their hair healthy and touchable," he said.
Lumination offers women's and men's haircuts, all over color, highlights, balayage, smoothing treatment, extensions and more.
